Healing Cancer From the Inside Out

Healing_cancer I highly recommend Healing Cancer From the Inside Out, a video by Mike Anderson. It’s extremely well done. It's an eye-opening and inspiring documentary about the true effectiveness of conventional medical "treatment" for many cancers. This film has good explanations of how many plant-based diets are amazingly more effective for cancer recovery and prevention than the average American realizes.

Supporting the power of our immune systems to heal from the "inside out" is the key component to healing our bodies. This film is so easy-to-understand.

Featured in Mike Anderson's documentary are plant-based diet expert and nutritional biochemist T. Colin Campbell and his groundbreaking book, The China Study; Brian Clement and The Hippocrates Institute;  Brenda Cobb and Living Foods Institute; Mirea Ellis and The Kushi Institute; Charlotte Gerson and the Gerson Institute; Dr. Matt Lederman of Transition to Health, Inc.; Dr. Thomas Lodi of An Oasis of Healing; Dr. John A. McDougall and his Health and Medical Center; and many more.

I ordered many copies of the Video and am lending them out, or giving them as gifts.

This DVD is a lifesaver! Why not get an extra copy yourself and donate it to your local library or church to help get the word out? The price of the video is only $4.95 US. You can order a copy at Hippocrates Health Institute: http://store.hippocratesinst.org/

Dandelion Salad

Dandelion_3 Dandelion is a blood purifier, meaning that it aids in the process of filtering and straining wastes from the bloodstream. It also can be used to help clear the body of stored negative emotions, such as anger and fear, that can be stored in the liver and kidneys. Dandelion is also an excellent herb for weight loss, as the leaves are diuretic and the root improves fat matabolism.

2 cups chopped young dandelion leaves
1 tomato, chopped
1 carrot, grated
1/4 cup finely chopped raw, shelled almonds a few dandelion flowers  in the yellow phase, not the fuzzies)
Raspberry Dressing
Gently toss the dandelion leaves, tomato, and  carrot with the dressing. Sprinkle chopped almonds on top and garnish with flowers.
Make about 4 cups.
Raspberry Dressing
2 cups raspberries
4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1/2 cup organic yogurt or kefir or  coconut milk
1/3 cup -lemon juice

In a blender, combine all ingredients.

Make about 2 cups.

Shocking the Sugar out!

Sugar This week, I have a group of people on the Shocking the Sugar Out! program that I put together to manage sugar addictions or carbohydrate sensitivity, whether or not weight loss is the goal.

This is quite exciting — it includes a private consultation and 2 teleclasses, along with followup e-mail messages to guide and support the participants throughout this week.

It's really 4 plans within 2 plans. And that’s why I’m so excited!

First, I introduced some cooked food with the raw food you would normally find in the program. This, I called Plan 1, giving participants more choice. Plan 2 is a more liquid and blended food diet — more alkalizing and cleansing! As we move along this week, I'm adjusting the plan, so I can create custom diets for those who need help going through the transition. Today is Day 1 for the group. Check here for daily updates.

Heal Your Body shows you that if you are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed.

Heal_your_body_az Now that we know how food can affect our health, let’s turn now to another kind of nourishment — this one for the mind. We all know that stress can be bad for your health. But did you know that criticism, anger, resentment and guilt can actually cause disease to develop in our bodies?

According to Louise Hay, the author of Heal Your Body, if you’re someone who is constantly criticizing everyone and everything, this could lead to diseases such as arthritis.  Anger, she says, turns into things that boil and burn and infect the body. And holding on to resentment ultimately can lead to tumours and cancer, because it eats away at the self. And guilt? Well, that’s the beginning of punishment, and that leads to pain. As Hay rightly points out, it’s easier to release negative thinking patterns from our minds when we are healthy, than to face dealing with arthritis or a tumour when we are too sick to think straight!

Heal Your Body shows you that if you are willing to do the mental work, almost anything can be healed. Here's Hay’s quick guide to the probable mental patterns behind the disease in your body, as described in her book:

Addiction: Running from the self. Fear. Not knowing how to love the self.
New thought pattern: I now discover how wonderful I am. I choose to love and enjoy myself.

Appetite:  Excessive. Fear. Needing protection, judging the emotions.
New thought pattern: I am safe. It is safe to feel. My feelings are normal and acceptable.

Constipation: Refusing to release old ideas. Stuck in the past. Sometimes stinginess.
New thought pattern: As I release the past, the new and fresh and vital enter. I allow life to flow through me.

Depression: Longing for what might have been. A great need to control. Deep sorrow. No sweetness left.
New thought pattern: This moment is filled with joy. I now choose to experience the sweetness of today.

Hypoglycemia: Overwhelmed by the burdens in life. “What's the use?”
New thought pattern: I create a new life with new rules that totally support me.

The miracle of kelp

Kelp_1 Are you adding kelp to your diet? I started using kelp a few years ago — now, this is also one of my favourite seaweeds!

Kelp is full of vitamins and minerals - especially calcium and valuable trace minerals. It aids digestion, soothes sore joints, lowers blood pressure and cholesterol, expels radiation from the body and nourishes the thyroid. Sea vegetables such as kelp and chlorella) have been acknowledged as a detoxifier, a provider of balanced nourishment and a miraculous healing plant. Ocean/sea algae are the richest natural source of minerals, trace minerals and rare earth elements.

Naturally salty, these crispy, dark-green flakes of kelp are a natural salt substitute and are wonderful to crumble onto your salads, rice, vegetables or in soup. Or you can just snack on them. Yum!

Here’s how it works:
The electrolytic magnetic action of the sea plants releases excess body fluids from congested cells and dissolves fatty wastes through the skin, replacing them with depleted minerals, particularly potassium and iodine. Because the natural iodine boosts thyroid activity, food fuels are used before they can turn into fatty deposits. Vitamin K, a fat-soluble vitamin in seaweeds, aids adrenal regulation, so a seaweed bath also helps maintain hormone balance for a more youthful body.

Nourishing herbal teas

Herbalteateapage To make a herbal tea, put 4-6 tbsp of favourite herb into a glass or ceramic teapot. Pour 4 cups of boiling water into teapot. Cover and let steep for 20-30 minutes. Here are some of my favourites:

Dandelion leaf: Anti-rheumatic, diuretic, tonic, it aids the healing of kidney and liver disorders. It is a digestive aid and reduces blood pressure.

Nettle: Tones and firms tissues, muscles, arteries and skin. It also helps curb the appetite, cleanses toxins from the body and energizes.

Rose hip: An excellent source of vitamin C, it also contains vitamins A, D and E and flavanoids (antioxidants). Also prevents bladder infections and eases headaches and dizziness.

Yerba mate: Cleanses the blood and decreases the appetite.  It stimulates the mind, the respiratory system and the nervous system. Limit intake to one cup only per day, to replace or substitute for coffee.

Try a cup. You’ll like it!

What your liver is telling you

Liver_pic Our bodies are a wonderful thing. Even while we're sleeping, they're rebuilding themselves. New blood cells. New bone cells. New tissue cells. New brain cells! It's truly out with the old and in with the new each year. Of course, some tissue takes longer to replace than others. The liver, for example, needs regeneration every three weeks or so.

It's little wonder. As one of the largest organs in the body, the liver is busy 24/7 performing many important jobs. Among other things, it cleanses the body of toxins and bacteria, produces bile to help digest food, and gathers and stores important nutrients, such as vitamins, for our bodies to use later. With such a key role, it's critical for the liver to stay healthy. And that's why it needs to rebuild itself so often. Read More

Sweep your colon clean — and keep constipation away

Colon1 To understand why chronic constipation is so unhealthy, you first need to understand what’s going on in your guts — and your colon. Here’s my “Constipation for Dummies” explanation:

Toxins are formed and absorbed when waste remains in the intestines. Waste should be eliminated through the bowels on a regular basis — a healthy colon eliminates waste in 6-18 hours. But the colon can’t do its job properly if you haven’t given your body the diet it needs to keep it in tip-top shape. The colon is a natural breeding ground for bacteria, which is a good thing, because these bacteria neutralize and prevent a toxic condition from developing in the colon. The problem is, there are two types of bacteria: the good kind — the healthy, scavenging variety — and the bad guys — the disease-producing kind. In a clean, healthy environment, the healthy, scavenging bacteria will control the bad bacteria. But they can’t do that when your colon is all plugged up.

And that’s why eating food that is easy to digest will keep your colon in good working order, which will keep you regular. Not to mention healthier — and happier!

High-sugar, low-fibre diets that feature refined flour, rice and pasta are exactly what you want to stay away from to avoid chronic constipation. These diets are a recipe for sluggish peristaltic muscles. And you need a smooth rhythmic contraction of muscles to propel the contents of your stomach through the digestive tract.

Here are some diet recommendations that can keep constipation away: Read More

Try this easy colon cleanse gel drink. It will move through your intestinal track like a broom, sweeping everything clean:

  • 1-1/2 cups pure water
  • 1/3 teaspoon good quality Chlorella powder
  • 2 tbsp ground flax seed

Mix together and drink on an empty stomach at bedtime or 1-2 hours before meals. It works!
Remember, a happy digestive system is a happy colon.
