From Nancy Desjardins
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory bowel disease, more commonly known as IBD. It's caused by an abnormal immune response to bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. People suffering from inflammatory bowel disease often experience pain and blockages, which can be extremely serious if not treated immediately.
However, experts have directly linked diet, exercise, and Crohn's disease. In addition to milk and dairy products, wheat products, some vegetables such as cabbage, corn, and tomatoes often make symptoms worse. Citrus fruits and eggs are also known to aggravate the condition.
How can I help you achieve relief from Crohn's disease? One of the most effective treatments of Crohn's disease involves a change in dietary habits. Avoiding foods that contain white refined flours and sugars are suggested for those suffering from this condition. I have successfully eliminated such foods from my diet and have encouraged my clients to do the same for years.
Throughout the years, almost everyone has consumed buckets of vegetable oils commonly found on supermarket shelves. Know this—those oils are dead! That means they have no nutritional value whatsoever.
In fact, they’re harmful to your body—so harmful they should come with warning labels!
The healthy essential fatty acids in those oils have been completely destroyed. Moreover, they promote the development of transfatty acids and free radicals in your body, which can be toxic. Your body cannot break down dead oils, so it must find a place to store them.
Guess where they wind up—on your vein and artery walls, your colon, and in your joints. BAD NEWS! If you switch to high quality oils—especially flax seed, coconut, and pumpkin seed oil—you can greatly aid the recovery of your body. These healthy, live oils enter your system and go to work creating a structure within your body that helps clear and clean the plaque (thanks to those dead oils) that are now lining your artery walls.
Most of you know I really encourage people to eat closer to a vegetarian/live food diet. I didn’t always eat this way! This is why I can walk you through the program - because I know how you’re probably feeling at this time. So if you choose to keep animal protein in your diet, it’s okay! Just make sure it’s coming from a clean source! Instead of using the cheap vegetable oils found on grocery shelves, try using only products that are certified organic raised, without antibiotics.
Avoiding artificial flavorings, preservatives, and colorings are also suggested. More consumption of fresh fruits, leafy green vegetables, beans and lentils to help boost energy and alleviate symptoms of Crohn's disease.
For many people suffering from Crohn's disease, sticking to a proper diet is essential. Because some symptoms of the condition include diarrhea, abdominal pain, weight loss, anemia, nutritional deficiencies and rectal bleeding, individuals must take care to avoid trigger foods that worsen symptoms. Actually, minor changes in lifestyle and eating habits has helped thousands of individuals suffering from Crohn's disease to reduce the severity and frequency of symptoms.
There are alternatives to treating digesting conditions like Crohn’s disease that don’t involve expensive medications. Even if you’ve suffered from the symptoms and accompanying pain of Crohn’s disease or other digestive disorders, there is a good chance that you can reduce or even eliminate some of the most disturbing symptoms by following the guidelines I present in my 7-Day Sugar Free Diet plan. Even if you’ve suffered from Crohn’s disease for years and don’t believe there’s anything you haven’t tried, don’t give up, because if you follow my plan, you might very well be able to kiss that pain away sooner than you think.
My program will help you along that path. Learning how to avoid the biggest triggers or offenders to flare-ups of Crohn's disease includes knowing which foods cause distress and which foods will help to relieve it. Replacing "bad" foods and products with alternatives, as well as incorporating a multitude of natural approach methods will enable the digestive tract to heal from constant irritation.
One of the best things you can do to relieve symptoms of Crohn’s disease is to eliminate refined sugars from your diet. That’s what my 7-Day Sugar Free Diet plan will help you do, with little fuss or stress. Many people don’t realize that sugars can be found in many foods in our pantries and refrigerators – cereals, processed juices, and even that seemingly harmless bowl of tomato soup you’re warming up on the stove right now. Even seemingly healthy yogurt contains more sugar per serving than many of us believe.
By carefully looking at labels, you can successfully reduce the amount of sugar in your diet and achieve relief from the frustrating and sometimes painful symptoms of digestive disorders like Crohn’s. Whenever possible, stay away from prepackaged foods and beverages. Stay away from refined wheat products too.
Try a new approach to treating your Crohn’s symptoms. After all, if you don’t try, you’ll never know if it works or not, will you? What have you got to lose – other than your pain?
