A cup of warm water followed by a cup of nettle tea first thing in the morning will get you going in the bowel department.
Nettle is detoxifying and improves the ability of the liver and kidneys to cleanse the blood. It also curbs the appetite and cleanses toxins from the body.
The Nettle plant is used to treat gout and arthritis and has antihistamines and asthma-relieving properties. It is also used as an analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, blood cleaner, diuretic and digestive stimulant. Nettle infusion is a safe, gentle diuretic which is considered restorative for the kidneys and bladder. It’s also recommended for weight loss, but you may shed more pounds of water than fat.
Here's a great alternative to the traditional hot or Ice Tea without the caffeine! It's a super pick me-up in the middle of the day.
Hot or Ice Nettle Tea. Bring a quart of water to a boil. Put 2 tablespoons of dry nettle leaves into a teapot and cover with the boiling water. Let the tea brew for 3-5 minutes. Strain before cooling. Add more water, lemon, and your stevia.
Nancy,
I just picked up some Nettle Tea last night and I am having a cup as I ride your blog this morning.

Nancy,
I used to drink Nettle Tea warm when I did the Master Cleanse but have been brewing it overnight as suggested and drinking it at room temperature the following day. I love it. It is very refreshing.

When avoiding gout, dieting is the most important. Avoiding alcohol, especially beer, in addition to avoiding the foods that produce uric acid will absolutely help. Treating gout is an ongoing and lifelong task; however, managing the attacks will be beneficial in preventing long-term damage to the joints.

I make my nettle infusion in a big thermos bottle and after many hours it is still warm. I think a Nettles infusion is a great addition to any diet and certainly won't hurt. I drink it quite often, but not as often as I used too.

They say that the stinging nettle can be poisonous, but the fact is that once it is boiled or dried, the nettle becomes a great herb which has a variety of health benefits. Particularly, the tea made from nettle leaves is known to help ease a lot of problems
